Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both attorneys. At the age five she moved to Oxfordshire where she attended The Dragon School. Emma chose to be an actor when she was six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing, dancing and acting. As early as age ten she was involved and played the leading role in numerous Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the movie version from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for the first time at the beginning of 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for these characters. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's screen debut was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in 2001. The film broke records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings as well as being the most-grossing feature in 2001. The film received praise from experts, and also by the performance of three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British publication, has praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Emma's performance received nominations and won five awards later for the movie.
